The charity's overall aim is to benefit the community living in North Devon, by aiding and organizing programs to advance education, relieve unemployment, and provide recreational and leisure time activities for people who have need due to their youth, age, infirmity or disability, poverty, or social and economic circumstances. Additionally, the charity aims to promote and encourage the development of initiatives in other parts of the United Kingdom that pursue similar or compatible objectives to those of the charity.
