Hello

Creativity

We are committed to fostering an environment that encourages creative expression. We believe in the transformative power of art to inspire and challenge, and we strive to create a platform where every artist can find their voice and share their unique perspectives.

Inclusivity.

We believe that art is for everyone, irrespective of age, race, gender, cultural background, or ability. We are dedicated to making our studio and programs accessible to all, especially those who may have been overlooked or underserved in the past. We strive to create a space where everyone feels welcome and encouraged to explore their artistic potential.

Community Engagement.

The power of art to revitalise communities and bring people together. We are determined to engage with our community, collaborating with local art groups and organizing events that inspire, educate, and entertain. Our goal is to make art a part of everyday life in our community, and through our efforts, generate a renewed sense of community spirit.

Education and Growth.

We believe in the power of learning through practice. We aim to offer opportunities for students and budding artists to gain valuable experience in a professional studio environment, fostering their skills and helping them grow as artists. We also strive to encourage lifelong learning among all our members, promoting the value of constant exploration and experimentation in art.

Wellness and Healing.

We recognize the therapeutic benefits of art. We aim to create a supportive and healing environment where individuals can express themselves freely and find solace and comfort in their creative journeys. We believe that art can play a vital role in mental health and personal well-being and aim to leverage its beneficial effects for the individual and the community at large.

Community Cre8tives Ethos

Our ethos at Community Cre8tives is grounded in creativity, inclusivity, and community engagement. We believe that art and craft transcend barriers and serves as a universal language that can unite people from different walks of life, creating a shared understanding and a sense of belonging.

Our Story.

IMG_8864_edited.jpg

The volunteer community group, Together Again, announced with great pleasure their name change to Community Cre8tives, in November of 2023, after a successful year of creating, sharing, and rebuilding the community spirit in Appledore, Westward Ho!, and East The Water.

Starting in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, Together Again was born out of the simple idea to reunite the community through the power of art and craft. What started as a small initiative to rebuild community spirit has now blossomed into a vibrant network of amateur and professional artists, crafting a creative renaissance in the heart of their communities.

"The past year has surpassed our wildest expectations," said a spokesperson for the group. "We've had artists and visitors from as far afield as Bristol, Somerset ,Okehampton and further that come to join us, creating a wonderful blend of talents, techniques, and experiences."

Throughout the year, the group has hosted a variety of workshops, providing a platform for everyone to learn, create, and share. The highlights of the year include not only the beautiful creations made but also the connections forged and the communal spirit rejuvenated.

As they celebrate this one-year milestone, the group decided to evolve their identity to better reflect their mission and the community they have fostered.

"Our new name, Community Cre8tives, symbolizes the vibrant, creative, and community-oriented spirit we've cultivated".

"We started with the aim of bringing the community 'together again,' and we are thrilled to see it has evolved into a creative hub for all."

As Community Cre8tives, the group looks forward to another year of inspiring creativity, fostering connections, and strengthening the community spirit. They invite everyone to join them in their journey of creation, learning, and sharing.
